Rooted in the North Port St. Joe Project Area Coalition's environmental justice complaint to the EPA, this report traces how a collaboration among the University of South Florida, the University of West Florida, the Florida Brownfields Association, and the NPSJ CDC — funded in part by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Interdisciplinary Research Leaders fellowships — led to three Transformative Scenario Planning workshops. Together, community members imagined three futures for North Port St. Joe in 2050: Living Waters, Murky Waters, and Cesspool.

Redeveloping North Port St. JoeImplementing the Community's Plan — the 2016 Master Plan Update

In 2016, residents and property owners revisited the shelved 2009 North Port St. Joe Master Plan, this time with the goal of carrying it out. Funded by the Jessie Ball duPont Fund and the Port St. Joe Redevelopment Agency, and prepared with WIM Associates and PacificXanh, this illustrated plan captures three community workshops held in July, August, and October 2016. It sets out seven community themes, a mixed-use revival of Martin Luther King Boulevard, a new town center linking MLK Boulevard and Reid Avenue, a regional vision for the George Washington High School campus, and a pocket park as the first catalyst project.
